Illinois COVID Restrictions

Domestic Visitors
All American citizens who plan on travelling to Chicago by plane via a domestic flight should take note of the new identification regulations that come into effect on October 1, 2021. You will be required to have a REAL ID (REAL ID, U.S. passport or passport card, U.S. military ID, certain DHS trusted traveler cards or enhanced driver’s license) in order to board your flight. The standard driver’s license will no longer be accepted. Contact your state driver’s licensing agency for assistance in obtaining a REAL ID.
International Visitors
You should consult the applicable COVID travel restrictions in place at the point of your departure for both the U.S. and your country of origin.
To enter the USA you must have the following two documents:
- valid passport.
- visitor visa. This is not a requirement for Canadian citizens (with a few exceptions) or countries that are a part of the Visa Waiver Program.
Sales Tax
There is a 10.25% sales tax applied to purchases and a 17.4% Hotel Accommodations Tax.
