P4 Retreat Leadership
Kathy Broady, founder of DiscussingDissociation.com is the P4 Retreat: TEXAS 2025 peer group leader with endless creative ideas and exciting inspiration. Kathy's in-depth understanding of Dissociative Identity Disorder has been the source of the unique nature of this retreat.
Is Kathy new to you? She's been around for donkey's years!! Kathy started working in the field of Trauma and Dissociation in 1984, and met her first DID person in 1988 while living in Canada. There is a whole lot more to that story, and how this initial encounter with a dissociative teenager led to an entire career spanning decades of time, based in three different countries, all focused on work with the dissociative population.

If you'd like to know more about Kathy's story, and her clinical history, go to DiscussingDissociation.com to learn heaps more information. While you're there, read about Kathy's many years of work with dissociative trauma survivors, and explore 500+ articles of information describing her methods, philosophies, belief system, and descriptions of DID System Work. You can see Kathy's approach to working with dissociative systems and her understanding complex healing journeys.
It's important to note that as an independent consultant, coach and mental health peer specialist (MHPS) in the field of trauma and dissociation, Kathy no longer chooses a "power over" approach. This retreat and group connections are based on peer support principles.
Kathy walks beside you, with you, not above you. Together, along with the other attendees, you will talk, listen, and learn, side by side. You will share experiences and connections as peer-to-peer.
Kathy has many fun and creative ideas. As a dissociative system, with Kathy, you can explore new and effective ways to approach healing, how to listen or see or feel internal system communication, and how to connect more deeply with your inner parts.

This retreat is just one more example of using positive healing experiences -- encouraging dissociative survivors to experience healing, not to just read about it. Positive, healthy experiences for the whole system helps to heal negative painful experiences that required splitting in the first place.
While acknowledging and addressing the trauma is essential, of course, Kathy teaches that it may be even more important for dissociative systems to develop improved system communication for effective and obvious improvement in overall functioning and well-being.
To experience healing, it's also greatly helpful to provide a plethora of corrective emotional experiences for a variety of system members, creating internal connections and deepening system understanding. Experiencing new and better outcomes adds great depth and vibrancy into the healing process.
Many, many of these new, positive, healing experiences can, and will happen at P4 DID Retreats. Dissociative systems can experience healing in this setting in ways that can never happen in an office. Freedom to be accepted, seen, and understood as a dissociative system, all day long, all week long, creates many valuable opportunities for growth.
